NAPLES – Tight controls in the Vomero nightlife, where the police have combed through premises and commercial activities: yesterday evening, the Naples Police Headquarters intensified surveillance in the neighborhood, focusing on the areas most frequented by young people, such as San Martino, via Giordano, via Falcone, via Scarlatti and the Medaglie d'Oro and Vanvitelli squares.
The operation, conducted by the State Police with the support of the Vomero, San Giovanni, San Carlo-Arena and San Ferdinando Police Stations, saw the collaboration of the Campania Crime Prevention Department, the Guardia di Finanza, the Local Police, the Labor Inspectorate and the ASL Napoli 1 Centro.
During the checks, 166 people were identified, 22 of whom had previous police records, and 62 vehicles were inspected, with 17 violations. Highway Code contested. Particular attention was paid to the 18 monitored commercial establishments: several owners were fined for irregularities, including violations of HACCP regulations on hygiene and food safety and problems related to acoustic systems. Overall, fines totaling 17.500 euros were imposed.

I read that many people were identified and vehicles were checked, but I am not sure if these measures are really helping to improve safety in the neighborhood. Perhaps more community involvement would also be helpful.
