Crescentino (Vercelli) – On the day of the Memory and Commitment for the innocent victims of the mafia, the city of Creswell paid homage to Annalisa Durante, a young victim of the Camorra, naming a name after her urban park. Annalisa, 14 years old, was tragically killed on 27 March 2004 in Forcella, in the heart of Naples, during a firefight between rival clans.

The initiative was promoted by theMunicipal administration, led by the mayor Victor FerreroIn partnership with Prefecture of Vercelli, represented by the vice-prefect Cristina Lanini, and on the proposal of the Crescentino Youth Town Council. The young councilors, accompanied by the former mayor Martina and from the newly elected Rebecca, took part in the inaugural ceremony.
A link between memory and commitment
The event was attended by John During, father of Annalisa, and of theAnnalisa Durante Association, represented by the president Giuseppe Perna and the partner Salvatore Avallone. On the evening of 20 March, at Mimmo Candito Civic Theater, a meeting was held in which Annalisa's story and the initiatives born in her name were told.
Numerous authorities were present, including the regional councilor Simona Paonessa, the provincial councilor Luca Lifredi and the members of the Municipal Council. The Education Councillor's speech was moving Antonella Dassano, which supported the educational path that led to the choice of the name Annalisa for the park, in collaboration with Gabriele Cortella of the Association Ithaca of Vercelli.
Annalisa's father's appeal

As has already happened in other Italian cities, including Brescia, Reggio Emilia, Cecina and Somma Vesuviana, this community has also decided to dedicate a public place to Annalisa's memory, to demonstrate the commitment to never forget and to always choose which side to be on."
In the days 11-13 April, a delegation from Crescentino will go to Napoli to visit the Annalisa Durante Library and consolidate the bond with the community of Fork, in a shared path of memory and legality.
