The investigations and the conviction
Upon returning home, the woman noticed the theft and filed a complaint against her brother.
During the trial, the man admitted his responsibility and promised to return the stolen money. However, he only partially kept his promise.
The judge, while acknowledging the mitigating circumstances, held that the seriousness of the crime, aggravated by the woman's reduced condition, could not be compensated for.
The brother was sentenced to 9 months in prison (with probation) and a fine of 500 euros. He will also have to return the stolen money to his sister.
