In fact, the interception of a few months ago while he was still in prison (he was released on April 14th) while talking to his mother Giuseppina Nappa is emblematic: “Dad doing this after 25 years and eight months (referring to “repentance”) makes the whole world laugh… once you repent, we have no one left. Either they kill us, or we go back (to criminal activities)”.

And in the same period (it was February) his sisters, during a conversation with their father who was then detained under the 41 bis regime, had expressed concern about the possibility that Emanuele, once released, could try to get the clan back on its feet: "Let's hope he gets his head straight, tell him that too", they both said, addressing their father during the interview in prison.

The sisters had asked their father to intervene

But they didn't succeed because together with Francesco Reccia, 20 year old son of Oreste Reccia, another prominent member of the clan, whom he had met in prison in Syracuse, he wanted to regain control of the illegal activities that for years the family had managed thanks to his father.

He had decided to take revenge by killing his rivals but was involved in a car accident and was forced to take refuge in Lobster of Saint Lucia a where he was arrested on June 13 by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of .

Francesco Reccia was also arrested with him. They are accused of illegal possession of weapons in competition aggravated by mafia purposes. It is assumed that the weapons were intended to intimidate rival clans and reaffirm control over drug dealing areas. , in particular that of Piazza Mercato.

Emanuele Libero Schiavone had been released from prison only two months earlier, on April 14, after serving 12 years for mafia association and extortion. Once released, he had decided to take over the reins of the clan, in contrast with his father's choice to collaborate with justice.

 The three gun raids

And so, since the beginning of the month, a criminal escalation involving gunfire began. The first raid in Casal di Principe took place near a bar located near a drug dealing square: shortly before midnight on June 7, at least 5 9mm bullets were fired with a machine gun.

Subsequently, a few minutes later, at least 15 bullets were fired from different weapons at the Schiavone house. The second episode was recorded on June 11, 40 minutes after midnight, with at least 5 shots fired from a weapon of the same type and caliber as the one used in the first raid.

However, this time the shot was fired near Reccia's home in San Cipriano d'Aversa.
