Bolzano. A 48-year-old man, a resident of Naples with an extensive criminal record, was arrested in Naples by the local Flying Squad in collaboration with colleagues in Bolzano. He is accused of defrauding and robbing elderly people in South Tyrol.
The investigation began following a report from a 94-year-old former teacher from Bolzano, who said he had been approached by a man pretending to be a former student of his.
The impostor took him for a walk and convinced him to withdraw 500 euros from an ATM. Once he had withdrawn the money, the man grabbed the bills from the elderly man and fled.
