A man was arrested by the Amalfi Carabinieri after being caught pouring a dangerous narcotic substance, known as “Blue Punisher,” into a tourist’s cocktail. The arrested man, Dodou Ba, will have to answer for possession with intent to distribute narcotics, including marijuana, hashish, and ecstasy.
According to a note from the Salerno Public Prosecutor's Office, signed by Deputy Prosecutor Luigi Alberto Cannavale, Ba was caught red-handed while trying to drug a tourist's drink in a bar-restaurant in Amalfi. “Blue Punisher” is a dangerous triangular pill, marked with the logo of the Punisher, a Marvel Comics anti-hero. This drug is particularly insidious because it contains two and a half times the normal level of MDMA, the main psychoactive ingredient in ecstasy, making even a half dose dangerous.
During a subsequent house search, the military found more drugs, including three additional ecstasy pills. The Amalfi community was shocked by the news, which highlights the risks associated with the use and sale of narcotics. The authorities continue to investigate the case, warning citizens and tourists of the dangers associated with the consumption of these substances.
