A joint operation by the Municipal Police, ASL Napoli 1 Centro, Enel and ABC led to the seizure of 6 mobile refreshment points on seafront Caracciolo of Naples.
The control activities, carried out in Largo Sermoneta, Viale Dohrn and Piazza Vittoria, have highlighted numerous hygienic-sanitary and administrative irregularities.
The violations:
All the refreshment points were seized due to the lack of the necessary authorizations to operate the business.
Four businesses were suspended due to serious hygiene deficiencies. 15 kg of food in precarious conditions were seized.
The permits for the occupation of public land had expired for all the refreshments, resulting in fines totaling 31.000 euros.

An owner was reported for damaging Enel equipment.
The sanctions:
The ASL issued 22 prescriptions, a warning and 8 fines for a total of 10.000 euros.
The Councilor for Legality and Local Police, Antonio De Iesu, underlined the importance of restoring legality on the seafront, prohibiting itinerant trade in some areas.
The control operation has led to a severe blow against illegality in the itinerant catering sector in Naples. The competent authorities will continue to monitor the situation to ensure compliance with the rules and the protection of public health.
“The action of restoring, in synergy with the Councilor for Commerce Teresa Armato, the conditions of legality in the area of the Lungomare, via Caracciolo and viale Dohrn, continues, which began with the closure of the kiosks and continued with checks and applications of administrative sanctions against the itinerant pubs that had been illegitimately transformed into fixed locations.
In these areas, on the basis of municipal regulations and council resolutions, it is in fact forbidden to carry out itinerant trade activities", declares the Councilor for Legality and Local Police of the Municipality of Naples, Antonio De Iesu.
