Before the kick-off of the match between Juventus and Napoli, Giovanni Manna, sporting director of the Neapolitan club, spoke to DAZN microphones, expressing emotions and reflections on the new blue project. "We've started a journey together with Conte. It's our first year, and we're in daily contact based on mutual respect and trust. The manager is central to this project. We're satisfied and want to build something important.", declared Manna, underlining the key role of the coach in Napoli's new course.
Manna, who until last season worked for the Juventus, does not hide the emotion of returning to the Stadium as an opponent: "I left Juventus as a man and have great memories. But I'm fully focused on the present and future of Napoli, very happy to be here.
I had the opportunity to work with Giuntoli, who told me a lot about the Neapolitan reality. I'm proud of the journey we've made and to now be part of this project."
On Napoli's change of formation and the choice to field McTominay from the first minute, Manna added: "When new players arrive there is always curiosity.
We have a competitive squad and this match represents only the first stage of a challenging journey. The manager has a well-stocked squad, the weekly work is crucial and he certainly saw in McTominay the right characteristics for this challenge."
