A movie-like plan, staged in a jewelry store in Casoria. Two women, pretending to be customers, facilitated the entry of a gang of armed robbers, who took away a loot of about 250 thousand euros.
It all started with a double honk, the agreed signal to start the action. The two accomplices, Sabrina Raia, a 26-year-old from Portici already known to the police, and a 46-year-old with no criminal record from Barra, had attracted the jeweler's attention by feigning interest in some precious items.
They had entered with the false intention of purchasing an important jewel to give to a nephew for his communion.
The plan was to have as many jewels as possible taken out and so while an employee was showing off the valuables, two distinct honks of car horns could be heard coming from outside.
The signal: two honks
When they heard the signal, one of the two went out to “check the car,” leaving the door open and keeping it locked. The other remained inside, motionless, like any other spectator.
The robbers, armed with a pistol and an Uzi machine gun, burst in, threatening the employee and emptying the windows. One of the two accomplices remained at the door to keep the escape route open while the other woman watched the robbery unperturbed, sitting on a chair.
The robbers escaped with a loot of approximately 250 thousand euros, crossing the door still kept open by the young buyer.
After the two bandits escape, the door closes, the employee runs to the door, photographs the license plate of the fugitives' car.
Hunt for the two robbers and their accomplice driving
Meanwhile, the Carabinieri from the Casoria station arrive. They reconstruct the last moments and, thanks to the testimonies of some people outside and the vision of the cameras, they recognize in the two customers an indisputable complicity with the two armed men who had just escaped.
I'm still inside the jewelry store and will come out in handcuffs, arrested for aggravated robbery. They are Sabrina Raia, a 26-year-old from Portici already known to the police and a 46-year-old with no criminal record from Naples, Barra. They were taken to prison, awaiting trial.
Investigations continue to track down the two robbers and the man who was driving the car that took them away.
