Maschio Angioino in Naples hosts a one-of-a-kind artistic event at Maschio Angioino. Starting Thursday, October 31, the Antisale dei Baroni di Castel Nuovo will become the stage for “Cuba performative,” a project dedicated to contemporary Cuban art.

“Cuban Video Art Between Escapism and Introspection”
In parallel, the exhibition “Cuban Video Art between Escape and Introspection” presents thirteen Cuban artists, from the pioneers of the 1980s to the emerging creatives of the last thirty years. The event explores Cuban video practice through a wide range of expressive registers, from the urban contexts of the Cuban capital to Afro-Cuban musical rhythms. This section of the event highlights the tension between public and private space in communist culture and tells stories of identity, desires and social challenges. The project “Cuba performative” in Naples offers a unique opportunity to explore in depth the cultural and artistic dynamics of Cuba, providing a memorable occasion to discover the contemporary voices of the Caribbean island.
