FIGC Statute Reform – Important turning point in Italian football: the FIGC extraordinary statutory assembly approved with a large majority the statute reform proposed by president Gabriele Gravina. The vote marked a clear victory for the line of the federal number one.
All this happened despite the compact opposition of Serie A, which voted against or abstained on all the points under discussion. The top-flight body thus found itself isolated in its attempt to block the statutory changes. The success of Gravina's proposal was completed by the approval of the amendments presented by the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti, relating to articles 10, 14 and 15 of the statute.
The reform marks an important moment of change in the governance of Italian football, with a redesign of the balance between the different components of the national football system, despite the resistance of the Lega Serie A.
