Change of guard at the top of Genoa. The Romanian entrepreneur Dan Sucu, well-known owner of Rapid Bucharest, is the new majority shareholder of the rossoblù club. Sucu has completed the operation by fully subscribing to the capital increase approved by the shareholders' meeting last Saturday.
The investment, worth a total of €45.356.262, is divided into two parts: €5.356.262 free of charge and a whopping €40 million paid in cash. A move that confirms the magnate's ambition to consolidate his presence in the world of international football, adding Genoa to his already prestigious sports portfolio.
Dan Sucu is a prominent figure in the Romanian business landscape. Founder of Mobexpert, the largest furniture brand in Romania, it has over 2.200 employees and a significant network of points of sale. In addition to the interior design sector, Sucu is an influential investor in the real estate sector and since 2022 has played a key role in the economic daily BBC, one of the leading financial media in Romania.
Dan Sucu's entry into the management of the Genoa represents an important step for the club, which aims to strengthen itself and build a long-term vision. His entrepreneurial experience and his commitment to football, already consolidated with Rapid Bucharest, could bring a new energy and strategic resources for the future of the Ligurian club.
