The magic of Christmas enveloped the Teatro Mediterraneo of the Mostra d'Oltremare in Naples on the evening of December 19, 2024, where the “FCF Christmas Charity 2024 – Christmas Concert” was held. The event, organized by the Cannavaro Ferrara Foundation, was a mix of music, haute cuisine and solidarity, with the aim of supporting the project “I Fuori-Classe di Napoli”, dedicated to combating truancy in the Secondigliano neighborhood.
The evening raised 35 thousand euros thanks to the participation of 600 guests and the generosity of numerous sponsors. Among emotional moments and exceptional guests, the concert shone for the presence of maestro Eduardo De Crescenzo, who with his project “Essenze Jazz” gave the audience a unique artistic experience.
The surprise of the evening was the arrival of Napoli coach Antonio Conte, who showed great sensitivity towards the initiative. From the stage, the founders of the Foundation, Ciro and Vincenzo Ferrara and Paolo Cannavaro (with Fabio Cannavaro connected from abroad), reiterated the importance of the evening's mission. “Since 2005 we have transformed a dream into a concrete reality,” Ciro Ferrara declared, “and today we see a united community that believes in a Naples that leaves none of its children behind.”
Maria Mazza, the Foundation's historic godmother, presented the project "I Fuori-Classe di Napoli", which will involve 100 young people in vulnerable conditions with educational and sports activities and workshops at the Football Padel Club and the Sandro Pertini Youth Center. “When a boy drops out of school,” he stressed, “loses the chance to dream of a different future.”
The event was also a tribute to the memory of Santo Romano, a young man who tragically passed away, remembered with emotion by Vincenzo Ferrara: “You can’t die at 19 in such an absurd way. We are committed to transmitting the values that Santo represented.” Signature cuisine played a central role in the evening, with dishes prepared by the best chefs in Campania, accompanied by refined desserts and a champagne tasting. The evening concluded with the discolive preview of Mixed by Erry and a DJ set that kept the theatre lively until late at night.

The Christmas event at the Teatro Mediterraneo looked very nice and was a great success, but I wonder if the money raised will be used as promised. Let's hope that the young people of Naples can really benefit from it.
