Naples – “In three years we have reduced the debt by 1 billion and 100 million euros, and this allows us to hire more and improve services.” This was stated by the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, who spoke today on Radio Marte to take stock of the economic and financial situation of the Municipality.
Manfredi spoke of a recovery process judged positively by the supervisory bodies: “We have put in place a very positive path, which has received approval from those who monitor our finances.” The mayor stressed that the financial recovery has not occurred at the expense of services, reiterating that Naples deserves and must have a higher quality in the services offered to citizens.
Among the most significant steps forward, Manfredi highlighted the payment of companies that had been waiting for liquidations from the municipal administration for a long time. Another crucial issue addressed by the mayor was tax evasion, defined “still high”. Manfredi explained that the Municipality is working hard to ensure that everyone pays their taxes, an essential aspect to continue along the path of economic recovery and to support the relaunch of public services.
