A 33-year-old worker lost his life yesterday afternoon inside the Europoligrafico in Perugia, a company specializing in the production of packaging.
According to initial reports, the man, Gabriele Raimondo, from the province of Salerno, was crushed by machinery while he was busy with his duties. Despite the timely intervention of rescuers, there was nothing that could be done for the young man.
On the spot were attended by i police, the firefighters and the ASL technicians to carry out the necessary surveys and try to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident. The company was placed under seizure.
“It is unacceptable, we continue to mourn workers”
The news has deeply shocked the Perugia community and has brought the spotlight back onto the issue of workplace safety. “Another useless victim”, thunders Maurice Molinari, general secretary of Uil Umbria. “It is unacceptable that in 2025 we continue to mourn workers who lose their lives on the job. We ask the Region to open a discussion table as soon as possible to seriously address this emergency”.
Investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the precise causes of theaccident. Meanwhile, the young worker's family is gripped by grief and despair.
