Improve the efficiency of the water network serving the city of Napoli, thanks to a digitalized system that avoids leaks in the water distribution network and inconvenience to the population.
This is the main objective of the 15 million euro financing granted by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Cdp) to Abc (Acqua Bene Comune) Napoli, which manages the infrastructure in the area. A press release made this known. In detail, the resources will be used to support the investment plan of the Neapolitan Special Company.
The interventions foreseen, in particular: the installation of the so-called smart meters, technological tools capable of monitoring the operating parameters of the network, increasing its reliability;
the introduction of a new digital monitoring platform that allows for the supervision, management and optimization of the network; the renovation of the city fountains by adopting cutting-edge systems and the reconstruction of some water sections.
“The operation – explains the CDP note – is part of a broader project by Abc Napoli called 'Abc4Innovation: Digital and technological transition towards the Smart Water System of the city of Naples', aimed at optimizing the management of the water network in a simple and intuitive way through the development of a monitoring system”.
Also thanks to the financing granted by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Abc Napoli "will be able to give substance to the projects for improving the network efficiency so as to respond both to the needs of citizens and to those of a modern management of the Integrated Water Service. This intervention is in line with Cdp's commitment to promoting a sustainable use of water resources, especially in the South".
