A truck blocked traffic under the Capodimonte Ovest tunnel of the Naples ring road, creating significant traffic disruption.
The accident occurred this morning, Friday, February 14, around 12:30, while the vehicle was traveling in the direction of Pozzuoli. The reasons that caused the truck to stop are still unknown, with technicians hypothesizing a mechanical failure or a driver's illness. Emergency services were promptly sent to the scene of the accident.
The truck stopped occupying approximately one and a half lanes in the stretch that connects the Centro Direzionale with the highway exit towards Pozzuoli. Currently, traffic is proceeding in only one lane, causing slowdowns on this main artery.
However, no particular critical issues have been recorded; however, there is still high concern that, with the increase in the flow of travellers expected during the rush hour between 13pm and 14pm, the situation could worsen if the vehicle cannot be removed quickly.
