The Frecciarossa FR 9311 in service on the Turin-Naples route stopped near Bologna at around 11:30, causing significant inconvenience to passengers.
The train, which left Turin Porta Nuova at 8:40 and is headed to Naples Central at 15:03, is still stationary, with a delay of up to 180 minutes, according to the Trenitalia website.
The train breakdown has had repercussions on the High Speed line between Bologna and Florence. Trains traveling on this route are experiencing delays, with travel times extended by up to 60 minutes. To deal with the situation, some AV trains have been rerouted to the conventional line.
In addition, six directly involved Frecciarossa trains are running with delays of more than an hour. It is now up to the technical operators to resolve the fault to allow a smooth resumption of the train service and reduce inconvenience for passengers.
