The 'Corto che Passione!' initiative has been announced, promoted by the Italian Federation of Arthouse Cinema in collaboration with various organizations in the film industry, including the National Association of Cinema Operators and Rai Cinema.
Article Key Points
The initiative includes the programming of short films in over 100 Italian cinemas, every second Tuesday of the month for a year. The shorts, with a total duration of about 70 minutes per evening, will offer a varied and renewed selection of cinematic proposals.
Participations and Collaborations
With the support of the General Directorate of Cinema and Audiovisual of the MiC and Deluxe Digital, the initiative also involves the Italian Short Film Association. Important is the support of the UNITA Association and the Collective under 35, who will contribute with their presence to promote the short format in movie theaters. The goal is to enhance young talents and bring the general public closer to the world of short films.
First Screenings
The first series of screenings will take place on March 11, with recent short films that have won awards and festival participation, including two winners of the David di Donatello. Different genres will be proposed, such as comedy, drama and animation, highlighting actors of great importance. Among the titles scheduled are 'Bellissima' by Alessandro Capitani, 'Inverno' by Giulio Mastromauro and 'Caramelle' by Matteo Panebarco.
Giuliana Fantoni, president of FICE, expressed satisfaction for the active participation of theaters and the collaboration received from important entities in the sector. Nicola Claudio, president of Rai Cinema, underlined the importance of the project in strengthening the bond between the public and short films.

The 'Corto che Passione' initiative seems like a good idea to me, but I'm not sure that short films will attract as many people as hoped. I hope that the theaters are ready to do good publicity for the event.
The initiative seems interesting to me, but I don't know if it will be a success, it depends on many factors. Short films are sometimes not appreciated by the public, so let's see how people react to this project.
