According to what was reported by the Ministry of Health and relating to 2022, as explained by the Gimbe foundation during the works of the third national congress of the National Federation of Nursing Professions of Rimini, the region has a figure equal to 3,83 employed nurses per 1.000 inhabitants, doing even worse than Sicilia (3,84) and Calabria (3,90).
In Italy, there are 5,13 employed nurses per thousand inhabitants. For the president of Gimbe, Nino Cartabellotta, "we are faced with a situation that compromises the functioning of public health and undermines equity in access to care, especially for the elderly and more vulnerable, both in hospital and territorial settings, where the investments of the Pnrr risk being nullified without an adequate supply of nursing staff.

In Italy, there are 5,13 nurses per 1.000 inhabitants, with strong territorial heterogeneities: from 3,83 in Campania to 7,01 in Liguria.
“In general – continues Cartabellotta – the number of nurses is lower in almost all the regions of Southern Italy, subject to recovery plans, as well as in Lombardy”.

The article talks about a serious problem in public health. It is strange that there are fewer nurses in certain regions such as Campania. I hope the government takes measures to improve the situation and ensure care for all.
