Six months of pain, anger and a battle for the truth. Filomena Russo, mother of Nicola Iorio, the 19-year-old who died in a tragic accident with a jet ski in Albania, took to social media in a long outburst to denounce the lies that, in her opinion, have surrounded her son's story.
“They lied to us, but the truth has come out”
According to the woman, the first version of events spoke of a freak wave that overwhelmed Nicola, pushing him against the propeller of the jet ski. “But those bikes didn’t have propellers,” Russo writes, maintaining that the truth emerged only after pressure from the police: “The eyewitnesses, when cornered, admitted how things really happened.”
The mother openly accuses those who were present of having changed their version several times, until they ended up blaming Nicola himself. “They insinuated that he was the one who suddenly swerved into the other jet ski, when in fact it was the other driver who hit him,” Russo reports.
The accusations: “Nicola never arrived alive at the hospital”
In her outburst, Filomena Russo also points the finger at the reconstructions following the accident: “They said that Nicola had arrived at the hospital alive, with a pulse and labored breathing. But my son never had this chance. No heartbeat, no fight for life. Only the silence of a broken life, while someone tried to cover it all up”.
Harsh words, which reveal the pain of a mother who does not give up: "We never believed their lies. And now, finally, the truth has come to light. Even on the day of the funeral they continued to lie."
“They protected themselves, not my son”
Russo accuses those present of having tried to protect only themselves: "Rather than take responsibility for themselves, they preferred to clear their conscience by placing all the blame on Nicola, knowing that he could not defend himself."
Not only that: the mother claims that she herself was the victim of defamation. “They tried to discredit me, to make me appear as a bad mother, while many believed their lies without knowing anything about what really happened.”
The appeal: "He who does not know, be silent"
In his message, Russo directly addresses those who have spread conflicting versions: “Those who do not know the truth should remain silent. No justification can ever erase the reality of the facts.”
Finally, a thought for Nicola, who lives on in the memories of those who loved him: “He was an extraordinary boy, generous, always ready to help others. No lie will be able to erase the mark he left.”
A painful story, which now awaits justice.

I read the article and there are many things that don't add up. Nicola's mother talks about lies, but it's not clear what the truth is. It's difficult for those who weren't there to judge what happened.
It's very sad what happened to Nicola, but I don't understand why the mother accuses everyone. Reconstructions can be complicated and there are always two versions of the facts, perhaps we should have more patience before judging.
It is truly sad that there are people who lie about such a serious tragedy. Nicola's mother is right to ask for justice and to tell the truth, but I hope that people listen and do not continue to spread lies.
I don't know what to think about what Nicola Iorio's mother said. It seems like there are a lot of contradictions and sometimes people don't tell the truth to protect themselves. It's a very sad case.
