Naples – Two 30-year-olds, residents of the Fuorigrotta neighborhood, were brutally attacked by their neighbor, ending up in hospital with a prognosis of several days. The episode was reported by Antinoo Arcigay Naples, which speaks of “yet another vile act of homophobic violence”.
According to the association, the attack occurred on March 10 and is the culmination of years of threats and harassment. The neighbor, according to the complaints, never accepted the homosexuality of the two boys. Arcigay also claims to be in possession of audio in which the man utters threatening phrases, including: "I have to tear these gays to pieces".
The attack, described as “violent and premeditated,” caused serious injuries to the two young men, identified by the fictitious names Marco and Luca. Both were hit in the face and body, requiring hospitalization. After the attack, the neighbor allegedly continued to swear at them, preventing them from returning home.
The intervention of the police was immediate, thanks to the alert launched by the association. Arcigay Napoli guaranteed legal assistance and psychological support to the victims.
“We are facing a real war bulletin,” said Antonello Sannino, president of Antinoo Arcigay Napoli. “Homophobic attacks, both physical and verbal, are now the order of the day. It is a real social and security emergency for the LGBTQIA+ community.”
The association calls for urgent intervention by the institutions to combat homophobic hatred and violence and invites citizens to express solidarity with the victims.
