The musical duo PFR (Post Fata Resurgo), formed by Mauro Marsu and Salvatore Torregrossa, recently released an album entitled “'E capa 'e core 'e stommaco”. Founded in 2020, the duo uses Platonic mythology as a source of inspiration to articulate a modern discourse on life, creativity and writing, divided into three fundamental perspectives: head, heart and stomach.
Notable collaborations
This new work features the collaboration of over 30 artists. Contributors include names such as Paese Mio Bello, Brunella Selo, Marcello Coleman, Giovanni Block and Collettivo Artistico Vesuviano. The album was born from the desire to make music a social experience, fostering human connections and artists known not for their fame, but for the affinity and added value they could offer to the project.
Concept and production
In their compositional approach, PFR combines cultural and musical references that reflect their stylistic signature, and a complex writing that has become a distinctive trademark. The main tracks reflect the three narrative perspectives, while the sequence of the album is carefully orchestrated to culminate in a song that integrates all these elements. The album is described as a work that addresses themes with a direct and ironic language, offering a rich and layered musical experience.

The new PFR album seems like an interesting project to me, but I don't know if I can fully understand all the themes they deal with. The collaboration with so many artists is definitely a strong point, but I hope the songs are accessible even for those who don't know the mythology.
