The 5th Regional Congress organized by FIM CISL, the Italian Federation of Metalworkers adhering to the Trade Union Confederation, was held on March 6th and XNUMXth.
The event, held at the suggestive location of the Federico II University of Naples, had the programmatic title of “Respect for Future – A job in motion towards the right future”. Over 500 national and international delegates and guests participated in this important event in the organizational life of the FIM.
Among the delegates also the former City Councilor Tommaso D'Auria RSU and RLS of a well-known company SITAV leader in the maintenance of railway rolling stock employed by Trenitalia on the Italian high speed. Fim is the Italian Federation of metalworkers adhering to the Cisl, Italian Confederation of Workers' Unions.
It is a democratic organization, formed by the free membership of thousands of workers throughout Italy. It currently has 209.418 members (2019 organizational assembly data) and operates through a network of over 6.885 delegates (of which 921 are women and 5.964 men) present in companies in the sector, coordinated by 395 full-time operators (of which 94 women and 301 men); 25.773 are unionized companies.
“Workplace safety is a priority”. Tommaso D'Auria comes out with the “famous” consolidated text on safety, Legislative Decree no. 81 of 2008 from which provisions (i.e. acts, actions) on workplace safety derive (here is the concreteness of the consolidated text that affects their daily lives).
Workplace safety must be a priority! It must be there first of all (a solid and healthy company is supported by healthy and whole human forces). The wish of RLS Tommaso D'Auria that the memory and in memory of the victims has positive influences of improvement of the safety conditions of workers.
The “how to do it” has been stated above: with the vigilance of the authorities and the certainty of application of the rules by employers. An advanced country must also be able to create and maintain safe working environments. Any accident at work or occupational disease is unacceptable.
The diffusion of safety culture determines the conditions to prevent the risks of accidents. Institutions and social partners are invited to comply with the current regulations to generate concrete improvements in worker safety.
