Napoli. Some officers belonging to the Motorcyclists department of the Territorial Intervention Group of the Municipal Police of Napoli they were attacked during a joint traffic police operation with the State Police in Piazza Bovio.
The officers were violently attacked after stopping the driver of a motorcycle and following the notification of numerous administrative violations that led, among other things, to the withdrawal of the driver's license. One of the officers suffered injuries that forced him to seek medical treatment in hospital.
The 52-year-old man was arrested and, by order of the prosecutor on duty, subjected to the precautionary measure of house arrest pending trial with a direct trial.
Between Piazza Bovio and Borgo degli Orefici, a total of fifty-seven vehicles were checked, six of which with foreign license plates. Nineteen fines and eleven administrative seizures.
The Motorcycle Department of the Territorial Intervention Group of the Naples Local Police carried out, in the first eight months of 2022, 1838 seizures divided as follows: 995 art. 193, lack of insurance coverage, 180 art. 213, driving a vehicle already seized, 98 art. 93, driving with an irregular foreign license plate, 330 art. 116, driving without a license, 85 art. 97, moped no longer complying with the construction characteristics, 151 art. 171, failure to use a helmet.
