The film festival kicking off on July 2023st in Trieste goes to the actor Massimiliano Caiazzo, one of the protagonists of the Rai series Mare fuori, the Prospettiva 1 award assigned by the ShorTS international film festival, a cinematographic event organized by the Maremetraggio association, scheduled from July 8st to XNUMXth in Trieste.
Caiazzo, the organizers announce, will receive the award on July 2; that same evening he will also be the protagonist of a meeting open to the public. Born in Vico Equense (Naples) in 1996, Caiazzo began studying acting at 18 at the Méliès film school directed by Gianfelice Imparato, and then continued his studies in Rome.
In 2021, on the occasion of the 76th edition of the Venice Film Festival, he received the Kineo young revelations award. Since 2020 he has played the role of Carmine Di Salvo in the Rai series Mare fuori, with which in 2021 he won the Meno di trenta best TV series actor award. He is currently on the set of Mare Fuori 4 and has recently finished filming the Disney series Uonderbois by Andrea De Sica and Giorgio Romano.
The Prospettiva award – explain the organizers – represents “a bet on the future of young talents”: through this recognition, also in 2023 ShorTs turns the spotlight on a young promise of Italian cinema. “A bet that over time has been confirmed by the careers of the various award winners, including Alba Rohrwacher, Luca Marinelli, Michele Riondino, Matilda De Angelis, Daphne Scoccia, Sharon Caroccia, Jacopo Olmo Antinori, Francesco Di Napoli, Giulio Pranno, Luka Zunic and Aurora Giovinazzo”.
