It was a day of great significance for the community of Cesa, in the province of Caserta. The Angelo Vassallo Sindaco Pescatore Foundation participated in the inauguration of the Piazzetta and the “Emanuela Loi” Playground and the “Angelo Vassallo” Social Gardens.
These unique spaces were created on lands previously confiscated from the Camorra in Via Rosa Parks, and represent an important sign of legality and rebirth for the entire area.
The inauguration ceremony brought together family and friends of two escort officers, Emanuela Loi and Angelo Vassallo, who paid with their lives for their courage and spirit of service in the fight against organized crime. The touching testimonies of the policewoman's brother, Marcello Loi, and Giuseppa Catalano, Agostino's sister, made the event even more emotional and significant.
The “Social Gardens to Angelo Vassallo” are not just a physical space for cultivation, but they embody a symbol of hope and solidarity. These gardens are a unique opportunity for the community of Cesa to grow together, strengthening human bonds and creating a more united and resilient society. The choice to dedicate these places to the memory of Emanuela Loi and Angelo Vassallo, symbols of commitment to the State, is a way to spread positive values and awareness of the importance of legality in our society.
The Angelo Vassallo Sindaco Pescatore Foundation would like to warmly thank the Municipal Administration of Cesa, in particular Mayor Enzo Guida, for their support and commitment in the implementation of these social redemption projects. The redevelopment of this peripheral area of the town is an important step towards the recovery of lands confiscated from organized crime and their return to the community.
The “Orti Sociali ad Angelo Vassallo” represent a precious heritage for our community, and the best way to honor the memory of Angelo Vassallo is to preserve them and make them grow, nourishing both the land and human bonds. We are certain that these spaces will continue to be places of growth and sharing, promoting values of legality, hope and solidarity between present and future generations.
