The Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Bnevento conducted operations within the scope of services aimed at combating the trafficking and marketing of counterfeit and/or unsafe products.
During these operations, approximately 12.000 toys were seized that lacked the mandatory information required by the Consumer Code.
Soldiers from the Montesarchio Tenancy inspected a commercial establishment in Arpaia, in the province of Benevento, run by individuals of Chinese ethnicity. The approximately 1.500 square meter premises displayed toys intended for sale during the Christmas period.
However, it emerged that these potential Christmas gifts did not provide the necessary information on the product's name, origin of production and the presence of any materials or substances harmful to human health.
The person responsible for the commercial activity was reported to the Chamber of Commerce for violations related to Legislative Decree no. 206/2005, which provides for administrative sanctions from 516 to 25.823 euros. The seized goods, with an approximate value of 40.000 euros, were confiscated.
