An unmissable event for lovers of crime fiction and literature, the meeting with the writer Antonello Cerulo, guest on Saturday 20 January, at 17,0 pm, in the “Goccioloni” room of the Terme di Telese, to present his first work: “L'onore ed io”, published by the publishing house 2000diciassette edizioni, with the moral patronage of the Municipality of Telese Terme (BN), Mayor: Giovanni Caporaso.
The novel, presented to the publishing house by Prof. Lorenza Di Lello, Councilor for Culture and School Policies of the Municipality of Telese Terme, is not only a detective story, but also a watercolor of our country and our history where episodes related to both large cities and neighborhoods intertwine, in which we find ourselves reconstructing human and social dynamics that recall small towns and sometimes villages, made up of protagonists and extras. It is an Italian thriller in the highest sense of the term with continuous literary brushstrokes on a suburban routine, which hides personal and collective universes rich in emotions and knowledge. The editing work was done by Dr. Mary Attento (Rome), professional journalist, editor and literary critic.
In a note the author himself states: The book I wrote is certainly a mystery because there is a puzzle to solve, a culprit to find; I needed, in fact, a devilry, a device to keep the reader's attention and curiosity alive, while I tried to reflect on certain things that are close to my heart: the relationship between citizens and politics, the varied and, at times, invisible humanity; the hypocrisy of power. The task was not easy, I hope I succeeded.
The work, well-crafted and original, outside the classic schemes of the genre, full of twists and turns, presents a surprise ending that sews the threads of which the story is woven; the author constructs with narrative skill and a careful and nuanced writing a mystery in which psychological, political and social aspects are wisely intertwined. The novel is supported by fragments and details that denote a substantial work of research and documentation and enrich its gripping narration.
The presentation will be attended by: Giovanni Caporaso, Mayor of Telese Terme (BN); Vincenzo Fuschini, Deputy Mayor of Telese Terme; Lorenza Di Lello, teacher and cultural advisor; Maria Pia Selvaggio, president of edizioni 2000diciassette, writer. Antonello Cerulo, author of the text, will be present.
