Died Joe barone, general manager of the Fiorentina. He was 58 years old. Barone died at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan, where he had been admitted to intensive care after falling ill last Sunday, shortly before the Viola team's match against Atalanta.

The club announced the painful news through an official statement, which reads: “With deep sorrow and immense sadness, Fiorentina today loses a point of reference, a figure who has marked the recent history of the Club and who will never be forgotten. General Manager Giuseppe Barone, after the illness that occurred on Sunday, passed away today at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan.”

The message continues, highlighting the condolences of the entire Viola club, including President Rocco Commisso and his family, along with the directors and members of the technical staff, all devastated by the loss of a man who dedicated his professionalism, his heart and his passion to the colors of Fiorentina.

Joe Barone, in fact, was not only a manager of great caliber, but also “a friend who is available and present at all times, especially in the most difficult moments”. The note ends with a touching embrace to his wife Camilla, his children and the entire Barone family, while the Viola world unites in grief for the loss of a much loved and respected figure.

Barone had undergone coronary surgery, but his condition remained critical until the end. Barone's family left the San Raffaele hospital a few hours before the announcement of his death, while President Commisso is expected to arrive tomorrow morning, along with other relatives of the deceased manager.
