Four Daspo (bans on access to sporting events) were issued by the Catania police chief against the same number of Etna fans, following the Catania-Avellino football match held on 21 May at the “Angelo Massimino” Stadium, valid for the national phase of the Serie C playoffs.
Among the recipients of the preventive measures, three fans attracted the attention of the authorities for their turbulent behavior during the pre-filtering operations. Attempting to evade controls, they acted violently towards security personnel and police officers present to ensure public order.
One of them, already hit by two Daspos previously, in addition to not having the identity documents needed to access the stadium, even threw a lighter at a police officer who had asked him to deposit it. As a result, he was reported and given an eight-year Daspo, with the obligation to report to a police station before, during and after Calcio Catania matches.
