Special guides for the youngest visitors
Archaeologists, historians, botanists, with a language suitable for such a young audience, will be the special guides for the youngest visitors, who can participate alone or accompanied by their parents. The duration of each thematic itinerary will be approximately 1h 15, starting at 11.00 from Porta Anfiteatro, where the operators will welcome the children and parents who want to participate.
The first date
It starts on Sunday 7th July in Pompeii with "Gladiator life: gym, healthy food and competitions”. Path in the Regio II. Starting from the entrance of Porta Anfiteatro, the route will wind between the two ancient buildings: the Palestra Grande, a place of physical and intellectual training for young people, and the Amphitheatre, the oldest known of the Roman world. Here, over twenty thousand spectators could once watch gladiator fights.
The second date
The second appointment of July, always at Pompei, is for Sunday 21st with
“A walk along Via dell'Abbondanza, discovering shops, domus, villas and gardens”. Route in the Regio I. A route along one of the main streets of ancient Pompeii, which connected the area of the Forum with that of the Amphitheatre. You will visit the domus to learn about the construction techniques, the artisan and food workshops, the materials and decorations of some luxurious villas that belonged to patrician families. The group will also depart from Porta Anfiteatro.
The groups of children and adults will be maximum 25 people, the cost is always of €10 per child, the rate is also applied to parents who intend to participate and who must also have an entrance ticket to the park or, when it is a free Sunday, the relevant entry ticket.
