Last night, the Carabinieri of the operational unit and the Naples Vomero company arrested Vincenzo Rongo, 46 years old, originally from the Spanish Quarters and already known to the police, on charges of aggravated personal injury with a bladed weapon.
The facts date back to yesterday, when a 21-year-old was stabbed five times by an unknown individual in via Morghen. Initially, it was assumed that the motive was related to traffic issues, but the investigation, coordinated by the Naples Prosecutor's Office, revealed that the attacker and the victim knew each other and that the episode could be traced back to family conflicts.
La victim, discharged from the Cardarelli hospital with a 15-day prognosis for multiple wounds to her limbs, did not recognize her attacker because he was wearing a helmet.
He was stopped at the Pellegrini hospital where he had gone for treatment.
The 46-year-old was identified thanks to surveillance camera footage and tracked down at Pellegrini Hospital, where he had gone for treatment of minor injuries, likely related to the incident. The clothing worn by the man during the attack was seized by the Carabinieri.
