In the municipality of Mondragone, in the Stercolilli area, the preventive seizure of a maritime state-owned area of approximately 4000 mXNUMX was carried out, urgently ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere and executed by the men of the Coast Guard of Castelvolturno and Mondragone.
The investigations revealed the illegal occupation of the area with an illicit activity of storage and warehousing of vessels, without authorizations or maritime state concessions.
Activity that removed a significant portion of the beach from public use, on which there were approximately 67 boats, a tractor and other material. The user was ordered to remove and clear the area, an activity that was actually carried out in the following days, allowing the integrity of the area to be restored and returned to the community.
The operations carried out are part of a complex and constant counter-terrorism activity carried out by the Coast Guard, in collaboration with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, within the framework of institutional synergies aimed at guaranteeing users of public property an effective system of monitoring and protection of the marine and coastal environment, in compliance with the law.
It is specified that the proceeding is in the preliminary investigation phase, and the suspects must be considered innocent until a final sentence. The precautionary measure was adopted in the absence of cross-examination, which will take place before the Judge, who will be able to evaluate the possible absence of responsibility of the suspects.
