Carabinieri blitz in Poggiomarino: Antonio Giugliano, known as 'o Savariello, was arrested in flagrante delicto for extortion aggravated by mafia methods. Giugliano, a prominent figure in organized crime in the area and recently released from prison after a long detention, had already been hit by a major seizure of assets by the DIA. Despite their shared surname, the boss has no family ties with Rosario Giugliano, known as 'o Minorenne, another criminal leader from Poggiomarino who is now a collaborator of justice.
The two were also bitter enemies: Antonio Giugliano linked to the Fabbrocino clan, the other one Rosario first linked to Galasso then independent. Released definitively a few months ago, Giugliano was hit by a maxi seizure of assets worth three million euros carried out by the DIA of Naples less than two months ago: two bars in the center of Poggiomarino, fourteen apartments and lands, insurance policies, bank accounts and valuable watches including several Rolexes, were sealed.
