Carabinieri blitz in Poggiomarino: Antonio Giugliano, known as 'o Savariello, was arrested in flagrante delicto for extortion aggravated by mafia methods. The operation, conducted yesterday afternoon by the investigative unit of the Torre Annunziata Group and coordinated by the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate, led to the arrest of the boss while he was collecting the extortion money in a local company.
Giugliano, a prominent figure in organized crime in the area and recently released from prison after a long detention, had already been hit by a major seizure of assets by the DIA. Despite their shared surname, the boss has no family ties with Rosario Giugliano, known as 'o Minorenne, another criminal leader from Poggiomarino who is now a collaborator of justice.
The two were also bitter enemies: Antonio Giugliano linked to the Fabbrocino clan, the other one Rosary first linked to Galasso then independent. Antonio Giugliano 'o savariello had important ties with the 'ndrangheta clans of the Piana di Gioia Tauro thanks to which he could afford to have cell phones in prison with which he sent messages outside.
Caught in the act, Antonio Giugliano was immediately placed under arrest. The intervention represents a further blow to the extortion network that has long oppressed the territory. Released definitively a few months ago, Giugliano was hit by a maxi seizure of assets worth three million euros carried out by the DIA of Naples less than two months ago: two bars in the center of Poggiomarino, fourteen apartments and lands, insurance policies, bank accounts and valuable watches including several Rolexes, were sealed.

The article shows the difficult situation in Poggiomarino, with crime persisting despite attempts to stop it. However, I wonder if the police can really maintain security in the long term.
