Naples. More than a request for protection money, the boss of Bagnoli, Massimiliano Esposito o' scugnato had requested 30 thousand euros from a mooring man of Nisida as a credit claim. A “gift” for a trade-in of a dinghy.
This is categorically denied by the entrepreneur who went to the police reporting the extortion request. The investigative activity conducted by the Naples Flying Squad and the District Anti-Mafia Directorate has led to thearrest by Massimiliano Esposito, known as “o' scognato”, considered a leading figure of the Camorra in the Bagnoli district.
Esposito, 53 years old, had been captured in a hotel in Qualiano, where he had hidden after escaping an operation by the State Police last September 17th. And today he was reached in prison by a new precautionary order.
The investigation revealed that Esposito had not made any explicit extortionate demands to the victim, but had referred to a generic “gift”, claiming to have a credit of around 30 thousand euros. This sum would have been linked to a deal regarding the exchange of a dinghy, a figure that the mooring man involved did not confirm.
