From 3 to 29 December 2024 the prestigious International Festival of 700th Century Neapolitan Music, an event curated by the Domenico Scarlatti Association, which this year celebrates its 24th edition.

With a program that includes 12 concerts in 8 different locations in the ancient heart of Naples, the festival aims to compare the Neapolitan musical tradition with the Central European one. The theme chosen for this edition is “Naples and Europe: The Neapolitan Musical School in the European Courts”, a journey that celebrates the influence of the Neapolitan school on European music.
The festival, which has received recognition from the Ministry of Culture as a National Festival and is part of the EFA European Festivals Association, is considered unique in the international panorama of baroque music festivals.

Starting at 20:30 pm, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Capodichino (SS7bis, 32 – Naples), one of the most significant moments of the festival will be held, with the “Messa Solenne in Re Maggiore” by Niccolò Jommelli, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the composer's death. The concert will see the participation of soprano Raffaella Ambrosino, contraltist Antonello Dorigo, tenor Roberto Manuel Zangari and bass Luigi Cirillo, with the Axis Mundi Choir and the Naples Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Enzo Amato.
Saturday December 14
Also at 20:30 pm, the Church of Santa Maria dell'Aiuto (Vico S. Maria dell'Aiuto, 10) will host the concert “La Fabbrica degli Angeli senza tempo”, with a dramaturgy by Mario Brancaccio and Giovanni Gatti, choreography and direction by Aurelio Gatti. On stage, the performances of Lucia Cinquegrana, Rosa Merlino, Paola Saribas and Mario Brancaccio.
The festival enjoys the patronage of the Campania Region, the Municipality of Naples, the Metropolitan City of Naples and Naples City of Music, and is included among the major events of the municipal administration.
