Sorrento. Alessandra Mauriello, the mother of the boy surrounded and attacked by six youths in the center of Sorrento simply for defending a friend in a jealous argument, is still shaken. "They had turned my son into a monster. We discovered it the day after what happened, when he opened the door to go to school. He was losing an eye."
Yesterday the six people responsible for the beating of Christian, his eighteen-year-old son, all between the ages of eighteen and twenty, were notified by the Carabinieri that they were under house arrest for aggravated assault.
Christian was surrounded and attacked by six youths in the center of Sorrento simply for defending a friend in a jealous argument. Speaking to the cameras, the woman remarked, "Unfortunately, we're not well, given his medical history, given what lies ahead for several months, and given his psychological reintegration."
In the attack, the young man suffered a fractured jaw and cheekbone, also hit while he was on the ground, kicked and punched. Already subjected to various surgical operations, he still has to undergo a long period of treatment.
“I expect these kids to learn that other people's lives must be respected”
"I expect these kids to learn from my son's misadventure that the lives of others must be respected. I only have great hope that these kids can be recovered because they are our society of tomorrow."

Castellammare, investigation into the gang that beat up the young foreigner in the villa
Castellammare. An investigation has been opened into the attack on the young foreigner by a group of youths on the Cassa Armonica in the municipal park…
I can't believe what happened to Christian, something so bad should never happen. It's important that justice takes its course and that the boys understand the mistake they made. Violence is never the solution.
