After many twists and turns and announcements, the official opening date for Maximall Pompeii has been announced: Saturday, December 14th. Everything is now ready, and the municipality of Torre Annunziata has also released the new traffic plan.
Traffic Changes in the Municipality of Torre Annunziata
The Municipality of Torre Annunziata, with Municipal Police Ordinance No. 117 of December 11, 2024, announces the following traffic measures that will apply from the time the signs are posted until further definitive provisions are issued and the experimental phase is completed:
One-Way Traffic Institutions
- Seven-Termini Street
- One-way traffic between Via Penniniello (newly built section) and the intersection with Via Vittorio Veneto in the direction of Via Plinio.
- Pre-selection lanes for turning right into Via Vittorio Veneto and turning left into Via Plinio.
- Via Plinio
- One Way:
- Between the intersection with Via Settetermini and the roundabout at number 125, in the direction of Pompei.
- Between the intersection with Via Penniniello (number 125) and number 191/A, in the direction of Torre del Greco.
- Between number 191/A and the roundabout connecting to Via Castriota, in the direction of Pompei.
- One Way:
- St. Alphonsus de' Liguori Street
- One-way traffic towards Piazza Imbriani.
- No parking and stopping with forced removal.
- Penniniello Street
- One-way traffic in several sections:
- From the Torre Annunziata Sud junction to Via Settetermini, in the direction of Via Settetermini.
- From the stretch that runs alongside the EAV area towards Parco Penniniello, with the obligation to turn left towards Via Settetermini.
- One-way traffic in several sections:
- Service lane (new roundabout area)
- Two lanes (one in each direction).
- No access for vehicles coming from Pompeii, except residents between numbers 219 and 271 and authorized persons.
Speed limits
- Maximum speed of 30 km/h in Via Penniniello.
Obligations and Prohibitions
- Vehicles coming from Castellammare are required to continue straight towards Torre Annunziata Centro in Via Castriota.
- Parabolic mirror installation at the intersection of Via Castriota.
Road Signs Provided
- Installation of vertical signs, including:
- 6 speed limit signs at 30 km/h in Via Penniniello.
- Stop, no entry, give way and roundabout signs at major roundabouts and intersections.
- Signs with additional panels for specific instructions for residents and authorized persons.

The opening of Maximall Pompei seems to be a good thing for Torre Annunziata, but there are a lot of changes in the traffic that could lead to confusion for motorists. We hope that everyone will respect the new rules to avoid accidents.
