The interior design of a house can sometimes be a difficult practice to implement and complete. Especially if you do not have a clear idea in terms of color and design of flooring, walls and furnishings. Therefore, a thematic study that can closely examine the steps necessary towards the ideal choice of colors for your home is of fundamental importance. In this focus we will therefore try to understand what the trending color solutions are, how to apply them to our home in concert with those that are also the most representative subjective preferences.
Divide the colors of the house according to the areas
The different sections of a house and therefore the spaces that compose it, as we well know, have their own functionality, different from one another. Therefore, the bathroom, living area, kitchen, bedrooms, each has different characteristics and livability. The same also applies to the colors that will have to be associated with each of these domestic areas mentioned. Usually, we tend towards cold tones for the bathroom fixtures, warm tones for the kitchen, and more neutral ones for the living area. The bedrooms, on the other hand, can vary a lot depending on personal tastes and the design of the house in question. If rustic, then it will always have warm shades, if modern, a more aseptic style even in spaces that, like those for resting, should also have a certain atmosphere (compensated in such cases with the right lights). Obviously, the colors can vary in the case of wooden floors also, or porcelain stoneware, carpeting and so on. In fact, surfaces do as much in terms of chromatic image as walls and furnishings.
Colour tones in the home as an element of harmony
One of the main reasons that should push towards a careful choice of colors when you have a new home to furnish is undoubtedly that of harmony. That is, generating well-being through the colors of interiors and floors, or even through curtains and other objects and accessories in the home. All of this can be favored by the right color combination between the components mentioned above. Each piece of furniture in the habitat in which we decide to live in the present and future must have a sort of interconnection of shades. Furthermore, they also say a lot about the personality of the owner of the home. Therefore, color solutions for interiors that will have in the furniture a narrative and experiential tool of crucial importance.
Warm, cold or neutral colors for the ideal home
As we were saying earlier, the right choice of colors and shades for the interiors of our home is essential to convey messages about us and our essence through them. Therefore, the discernment between color shades takes on great value: warm, cold and neutral. The first ones are usually preferred to give brightness and a touch of eccentricity to the home. The second ones, on the other hand, communicate greater asepticity even if in some chromatic nuances they can give back, like the warm ones, a relaxing sensation of well-being and tranquility. As a third option, there are then neutral colors such as black and white that offer minimal and extremely elegant images to the home but lack welcome and warmth in their clear chromatic appearance.
Colors for furnishing accessories and home accessories
In a house, beyond the flooring and walls that structure a living space, there are also furnishing accessories and curtains as well as other accessories of great functionality and utility. For example, shelves, or even bedside tables, as well as mirrors, represent furnishing elements present in any national and international domestic habitat. Even these latter, like the parquet surface or stone walls, have a significant value when loaded with a choice of the right color. Therefore, here too, warm, cold or neutral colors, with the latter alternative less beaten since it is more suitable for interiors than for objects. Furthermore, in this case, it is necessary to take into account the combination between the furnishing accessories and the rest of the house to ensure that an ideal match is created between the parts.
Trendy color choices for the home
When you need to decide how to furnish your home, and in this case the colors to use, it is necessary to also take into consideration the fashion and trends of the reference sector. The color palettes relating to interiors as well as furniture or even home accessories are practically infinite but not if you apply the filter of the current year's fashion. The latest news in the field of home furnishings refer to three basic rules to adequately set the color of the house. First of all you need to choose a shade capable of covering approximately 60% of the home. It will embody the foundations on which to then erect the subsequent color spectrum of the rest of the home. The second color will concern 30% and finally the third solution the missing 10%. This color scale will allow us to apply a first selection to the indecision of existing tones between warm, cold and neutral. Once this is done you can proceed to combine these percentages with the palettes and nuances of preference. Colors then bring with them their own meanings that should not be overlooked but on the contrary highlighted to communicate something to those who will be guests in our home. Finally, the current chromatic trend must be taken into consideration: nowadays the minimal style is the most popular based on black and white placed side by side in ever-changing ways.

Interesting article, but I feel like there is a bit of a lack of clarity on how to match colors together. I always thought that cool colors are better for the kitchen while warm colors are better for the living room, but I'm not sure.
