On Monday afternoon, officers from the San Giovanni-Barra Police Station reported a 33-year-old man, originally from Caserta, for illegal possession and trade of explosive materials and failure to report explosive materials.

During a targeted check in via Taverna del Ferro, at the corner with via Parrocchia, the police officers noticed a partially open shutter and a man inside a garage. Suspicious, they proceeded to identify the individual and search the premises.
Inside the box the following were found:
365 unlabelled and hand-made fireworks, with a gross weight of approximately 18 kg;
34 batteries of fireworks with a net explosive content (NEC) of approximately 21 kg;
387 packages containing approximately 15 thousand pyrotechnic devices, for a net explosive content of approximately 7 kg.
The material, lacking the necessary authorizations, was seized, while the 33-year-old was reported for the violations found. The operation is part of the intensified controls in view of the Christmas holidays to prevent risks related to the improper use of explosive materials.
