Aversa – The Carabinieri of Aversa have handcuffed the three Neapolitans who were terrorizing motorists in the area: they were specialized in car thefts, and were able to deactivate even the most sophisticated anti-theft systems.
The operation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, led to the arrest of RM, LN and CM, all aged between 25 and 53. The investigations, started in February 2024, allowed to collect damning evidence against the three, accused of having stolen numerous cars in the territory of Naples North.
The Carabinieri were able to trace the gang thanks to wiretaps, geolocation systems and the victims' reports. The investigations revealed a meticulous planning of the robberies and an astonishing ability to deactivate the burglar alarms.
The investigations, which began in February 2024, have allowed us to gather serious evidence of guilt against the people under investigation in relation to the commission of several car thefts committed in the area of the North Naples district.
In particular, the recipients of the measure are seriously suspected of having stolen several vehicles parked on public roads, after having skilfully uninstalled sophisticated anti-theft systems present on the stolen cars.
The investigative activities were developed through technical activities, such as the use of GPS geo-localization systems and the interception of conversations between those present, as well as through the receipt of complaints filed by the victims, thus allowing us to arrive at a serious circumstantial framework in relation to the facts being contested.
It was also ascertained that one of the recipients of the provision was subjected to the alternative measure of semi-liberty, revoked by the Surveillance Court of Naples following the investigative findings produced.
The complex, rapid and meticulous investigation activity, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Aversa Company directed by this Public Prosecutor's Office, given the seriousness of the crimes committed and the dangerousness of the subjects involved, has allowed us to give a prompt and decisive response to a criminal phenomenon particularly widespread in the Aversa and Naples area.
