The Cinema Metropolitan in Naples, long considered a cultural beacon of the city, is threatened by a possible closure that could erase it forever from collective memory.
For decades, this iconic space has been more than just a screening room, but a symbol of community and a hub for local art and culture.
Mobilization for the Cine Metropolitan
In response to this serious situation, a sit-in protest is planned for Sunday, January 26th at 11:30 am. The initiative aims to draw the attention of Intesa San Paolo and the government, as highlighted in the official document: "to remind Intesa San Paolo and the government that the Metropolitan it is not just a building, but it is part of our identity, our collective memory and the cultural future of Naples. Its closure would be an irreparable loss for the entire community”.
An appeal to the community
The invitation is extended to everyone: artists, citizens, film and culture lovers, to join in defending this important place.
