NAPLES – The Naples Police Headquarters continues its efforts to combat illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking: a new blow to the drug market has been struck in the Chiaia neighborhood.
The officers of the San Ferdinando Police Station, with the support of the anti-drug canine units and the Campania Crime Prevention Unit, arrested a 46-year-old Neapolitan and reported three other individuals. During the checks, the officers searched the home of the 46-year-old, already known to the police for specific precedents.
Inside a secret false bottom, created in a piece of furniture, 13 blocks of hashish were found for a total weight of about 1,5 kilograms. In addition, a precision scale and 130 euros in banknotes of various denominations were seized, presumably the proceeds of the illicit activity.
During the same operation, thanks to an investigative intuition, the agents inspected a guarded parking lot, noting the suspicious behavior of the manager. The search confirmed the suspicions: in one of the parked cars, 21 packages of cocaine and 3 of hashish were found.
It doesn't end there. The officers, believing that the caretaker could be hiding additional quantities of drugs, extended the checks to other places available to him. In a second parking lot, inside another car, 4 blocks of hashish weighing a total of 400 grams were discovered. The 46-year-old was arrested and will have to answer for illegal possession of narcotics. The three accomplices, including the parking manager and the caretakers involved, were reported.
