Naples – Blitz by the Local Police in Scampia against the illicit trafficking of special waste: the officers of the Scampia operational unit, in collaboration with ACER officials (Campania Agency for Residential Building) and ASIA personnel, intervened in via Ortese.
The intervention allowed us to discover unassigned ground floor premises that had been illegally transformed into a collection and processing centre for ferrous materials and components of dismantled large household appliances.
Following the checks, a total of 12 violations were contested, including the unauthorized storage of waste, improper use of spaces and the lack of permits for the treatment of materials. The technical staff took care of the removal and disposal of waste in accordance with current regulations, while the premises, once reclaimed, were closed and handed over to the competent authorities.
A completely illegal construction work was also discovered
During the operation, the officers also discovered an illegal construction: a passage area transformed into a closed room with toilets. The structure was seized and handed over to the appropriate authorities for the necessary provisions.
Further building abuses were identified by the men of the Avvocata operational unit during checks on the occupation of public land in via Guantai Nuovi. Here, two gazebos built in violation of the authorizations were seized, with a larger surface area than that granted and with structures that covered flowerbeds and tree roots. In this case too, seals were issued and the related administrative measures were taken.
