Avellino – The first-degree trial involving ten people accused in the investigation into the alleged “ghost” training courses at Alto Calore begins tomorrow at the Avellino court.
The charges, formulated by the Public Prosecutor's Office Avellino, ranging from undue tax compensation to the issuing of non-existent invoices, up to the crimes of embezzlement and false corporate communications.
The investigation, launched in February 2023 by prosecutors Luigi Iglio and Vincenzo Toscano, brought to light an alleged system of training courses for employees that, according to the prosecution, were never actually carried out.
The defendants include the owners of six companies responsible for personnel retraining projects, as well as the former sole director of Alto Calore, Michelangelo Ciarcia, and one of his close collaborators.
Ciarcia is also called to answer for embezzlement and false corporate communications, for having allegedly included in the balance sheet of the Spa managed by him undue compensations for the tax credit, accrued between 2019 and 2021, for an amount of almost 400 thousand euros.
Two of the defendants chose to be tried with an abbreviated trial and were sentenced to three years in prison, six months more than the prosecutor had requested. Tomorrow's trial therefore represents a crucial step in shedding light on this complex affair that has shaken Alto Calore and the Avellino community.
