Last night, the State Police arrested a 39-year-old of Dominican origin, illegally residing in the country, on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing and resisting a public official.
The operation was conducted by the agents of the Police Station v-Mercato during a control service in the area. While passing through via dei Tribunali, at the corner with via Pietro Trinchera, the police officers noticed an individual on a motorcycle intent on giving something to some people. At the sight of the officers, the suspects fled, disappearing.
The 39-year-old, however, attempted to flee, but was caught and stopped not without difficulty. The subsequent search led to the seizure of 37 packages of cocaine, for a total weight of about 8 grams, and 197 euros in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations.
The man was then arrested and placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority for the ritual procedures.
