Last night, the State Police arrested a 39-year-old Dominican man with an illegal immigration status on charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell and resisting arrest.
The operation was conducted by the agents of the Police Station v-Mercato during a control service in the area. While passing through via dei Tribunali, at the corner with via Pietro Trinchera, the police officers noticed an individual on a motorcycle intent on giving something to some people. At the sight of the officers, the suspects fled, disappearing.
The 39-year-old, however, attempted to flee, but was caught and stopped not without difficulty. The subsequent search led to the seizure of 37 packages of cocaine, for a total weight of about 8 grams, and 197 euros in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations.
The man was then arrested and placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority for the ritual procedures.
