During an extraordinary operation aimed at combating drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons, the State Police arrested a 16-year-old boy of Georgian origin and already known to the police, for illegal possession of narcotics.
The arrest took place last night, in the historic center of Naples, precisely in via Carbonara, on the corner with Vico Longo.
The agents of the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, engaged in a territorial control service, noticed a suspicious movement: the young man, after having taken something from a magnetic container hidden near some dumpsters, handed it over to an individual in exchange for money, who then quickly disappeared.
The boy, having noticed the presence of the police, attempted to escape, but was promptly stopped. During the search, the officers found 5 doses of cocaine and 259 euros in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing. In the magnetic container, furthermore, 58 other doses of the same substance were found, for a total weight of approximately 12 grams.
The 16-year-old was then arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The operation by the State Police is part of a framework of intensified controls in the historic center of Naples, with the aim of combating the phenomenon of drug dealing and ensuring greater safety for citizens.
