Naples – Maxi-seizure of phones in the prison of Secondigliano, Where the Penitentiary Police found and confiscated 25 devices, including smartphones and micro cell phones, presumably used to communicate with the outside.

According to what was reported byUnion of Penitentiary Police Unions (Uspp), led by the president Joseph Moretti and by the regional secretary Ciro Auricchio, 16 phones were discovered in medium security department, while others 9 smartphone were found in the high security department.

“The officers give no respite to crime”, commented the Uspp, praising the work of the director of the institute and the commander. However, the union has once again underlined the need for advanced technological tools to counteract the phenomenon: “We have repeatedly asked for the use of jammers to shield the detention sections and prevent inmates, especially those linked to organised crime, from maintaining contact with the outside.”

Despite the difficulties associated with the lack of staff, the Penitentiary Police Corps of Secondigliano continues to distinguish itself in prevention and control activities, ensuring order and safety within the institute.
