Naples – The crackdown by the State Police against drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons continues. In the last 24 hours, four people have been arrested in various operations conducted by the agents of the Police Headquarters of Napoli.
The arrests in detail
The officers of the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station stopped a 31-year-old from Guinea-Bissau and an 18-year-old from Tunisia, both accused of illegal possession of narcotics. The 31-year-old was also arrested for resisting a public official.
During an observation service in via Marvasi, the police surprised the 31-year-old while he was exchanging a dose for money. The man attempted to escape, but was stopped and found in possession of 72 packages of marijuana (80 grams), 23 doses of hashish (23 grams), 50 tablets of a psychotropic drug and 20 euros in cash.
Also in the Vicaria neighborhood, an 18-year-old Tunisian was stopped in via Duchesca after being seen giving a dose to a passerby. Searched, he was found with 10 bags of marijuana for a total of 8 grams.
At the same time, officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid arrested two men with specific criminal records.
In Piazza Bellini, a 36-year-old Romanian tried to run away at the sight of the police, but was stopped and found with 4 bags of marijuana (10 grams), a dose of hashish (2 grams) and 10 euros.
Finally, in via Carbonara, a 45-year-old Neapolitan was caught red-handed while he was about to sell drugs. The officers stopped him and searched him, finding 10 doses of cocaine (five of which were hidden in a pack of cigarettes) and 30 euros in cash.
Fight against drugs without stopping
The operation confirms the commitment of the Naples Police Headquarters in combating drug trafficking in the city. Investigations continue to identify any links between those arrested and criminal groups active in the area.

This arrest situation is very worrying, but it is also good that the police are doing their job. Let's hope there are less drug trafficking and people abusing weapons in the future.
That's true, but we should also see how these individuals are rehabilitated after arrest. It's not enough to just stop them, we need a more global approach to solve the problem.
